Vic Stasiuk, a respected member of the Lethbridge community, passed away on May 7th, 2023, at the age of 93. Vic will be deeply missed by his family, friends and the community he served throughout his life.
Vic was born and raised in Lethbridge where he developed a passion for sports from an early age. He went on to play professional hockey for the Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins where he earned a reputation as a tenacious athlete.
After retiring from hockey, Vic pursued his dream of turning his corn fields into a golf course, which is now Paradise Canyon. This golf course is now a beloved part of the community, attracting golf enthusiasts from near and far.
Throughout his life, Vic was a loving husband to his wife Mary. Despite her passing, Vic remained devoted to her memory and his love for her never faded. Vic was also a devoted father to his children: Vanessa, Elsa (Owen), Victor Jr. (Amy) and JaeJae (Layton) and a cherished grandfather to his 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Vic will be remembered for his kind heart and willingness to help others. His legacy will live on through his family and the community he served. He was a mentor to many and he inspired countless people with his dedication to making the world a better place.
Many thanks to Columbia Age Care and the wonderful staff at Legacy Lodge.
A family celebration of Vic’s life will take place at a later date.
