On August 3, 1958 Terrisa entered this world and for 65 years proved to be a force to be reckoned with. She was an example of courage, patience, kindness, determination and grace. She lived, loved and breathed these values through to her very last breaths. She peacefully passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on August 7, 2023. She did this in a similar manner she did most things in life: with a type of calm bravery unique only to Terrisa.
She was the second of six children born to (late) Marlene Graham and will be missed by her adoring siblings Melanie (Ken) Still, Desiray Fallon, Nancy (Bart) Orr, Daniel (Tony) Johnson, and Tammy Johnson as well as many nieces and nephews.
Terrisa married Reed Schneider on May 8, 1976 and spent her lifetime building a loving family. Together they worked very hard to create a beautiful home and yet Teresa’s greatest treasures (not surprisingly, her motto: ‘people are more important than things’) would without a doubt be her 6 children and 21 grandchildren and 1 grand baby on the way.
A loving soul and fond of giving-or relaying-compliments as often as she could Terrisa loved to lift others up. She was an avid cheerleader to her children, grandchildren and husband right to the end of her earthly life. She was a generous matchmaking whether through finding the right person for a salvaged item she thoughtfully saved, helping folks find the right home through her Real Estate or feeding her people. Her children and children’s friends have many sweet memories of yummy cinnamon buns, bread, homemade French fries; best when made with potatoes from Dad’s garden-which was another thing Mom would cheer on, all Dad’s garden produce! We all loved her amazing life stories. But no one loved them more than the grandkids. They were fun, crazy, and sometimes unbelievable, but always entertaining. And she knew how to put across the lesson to be learned. She was wonderful at giving hugs, a listening ear and sharing honest advice. She had a mission to show she cared and loved us forever no matter what.
Terrisa considered it an honour to welcome each of her grandchildren: Tyrone Allan Neill, Bradon James Neill, Lily May Neill, William Michael Neill, Ethan Jon Garry, Nowen James Garry, Anton Peter Garry, Rayne Isabelle Garry, Luna Rose Garry, Brixton Reed Schneider, Banks Allan Schneider, Camden George Schneider, Ian, Pierce Michael Paxman, Max Douglas Paxman, Jimmy James Paxman, Sawyer Ray Paxman, Charlie Reed Paxman, Eli Golden Quinton, Olivia Anne Quinton, Caden Dean Macleod and sweet baby Schneider on the way who Mom is likely snuggling right now. Terrisa will be fondly remembered and forever missed by Christina (Jonny) Neill, Amanda Gary, Allan (Alison) Schneider, Lindsey (Mike) Paxman, Julie Quinton (Dean) and Matt (Courtney) Schneider and her beloved Reed.
Rest in peace mom and know your time on this earth was spent making it a better, brighter place. Love you forever.
