Steven Victor Pinchak Obituary
Dusty, Dad, Grampa, Uncle
Named Dusty, August 16 at Boundary Creek Homestead by Uncle Clarence as he unbundled the infant from a horse drawn wagon and noticed two shiny eyes looking up from a dust covered body… hence the name Dusty lasted for 86 years.
Oldest of 3 children born to Steve and Laura Pinchak (Atwood) Dusty, Jody and Gary.
Other than a few early years in the Cardston area, the lions share of his life was spent in the mountains, lakes and forests near Cranbrook B.C.
The Heritage and Legacy of the Pinchak’s and logging, goes way way back to a locally famous and well known logging camp; to having the very first mechanized Caterpillar to skid out logs instead of horses.
It was under the strains of hard work that the well known attributes of working hard were forged and are now found in the DNA of all his posterity.
He married Myrna Joan Roberts in 1958 and in the next 12 years six children came to be. Keith, Clayton, Christy, Trace, Brandy and Laurie.
He was an accomplished and astute logger, trucker, salesman, politician, cowboy and jack of all trades.
He lived a full and eventful life bouncing between the homeland of southern Alberta and Cranbrook B.C.
His posterity, now number’s north of 100, inclusive of 1 great great grandchild Elijah Day, son of Anna and Joseph Day.
A Private Family Service will be held.
