It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ruby Yamamoto (Tanaka) peacefully on Friday, March 3, 2023 at the age of 91 years.
Ruby is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ken, her 3 children and 7 grandchildren: Amy – Vic Stasiuk, Sheena (David) Holm and Joel (Erica); Vickie – Ken Nakagama, Kendra and Kyle (Kate); and Kerby – Rshmi, Ilisha, Ashaan and Ajay. She also leaves 4 great grandchildren: Sofia and Zoe Stasiuk and Oliver and Emma Holm. She is also survived by her brother Fred (Jane) Tanaka, sister Miwa Shigaki and sisters-in-law May Matsumiya and Lil Tajiri as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruby worked hard on the family farm for many years as she raised her family. She was a wonderful cook and seamstress. In her retirement years, she enjoyed accompanying Ken to play the machines at Bully’s.
The family would like to thank the staff of Fairmont Extendicare for their excellent care of Ruby for the past 6 years.
A private family funeral has been held. Koden and flowers are gratefully declined. If desired, donations may be made to aid in Alzheimers research.
