Richard “Rick” Michael Moore, Born in Kitchener Ontario, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026 at St. Mikes Health Centre, Lethbridge, Alberta, at the age of 73 years.

He lived life exactly as he rode—head up, hands steady, and always moving forward no matter how tough the trail got. A legendary, gritty, tough-as-nails cowboy, he lived his days on his own terms and leaves behind a legacy as vast as the western sky.

Rick learned early on that respect wasn't given; it was earned in the dust and the dark. He spent a lifetime doing the kind of hard, calloused work that most folks today couldn't stomach. Whether he was breaking stubborn broncs, working the summer roundup, fixing fence lines in a freezing Ontario, B.C., Saskatchewan and Alberta winter, or making sure the herd had water, Rick never backed down from a chore.

He was a man of few words, but when he spoke, it was the absolute gospel truth. He was a pillar of the Rodeo community, a mentor to the young hands, and the first to offer his help—though he would probably give you a hard time while doing it. To his friends and family, he was a tough exterior with a heart made of gold, quick to share a laugh, and a story about the latest rodeo.

Rick leaves behind a legacy of endurance, quiet strength, and an unyielding spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of riding a piece of the trail with him.

As Rick would always say: "It's time to saddle up and ride."

With the love of horses, he will forever ride high.
