Norma Hodder passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 16, 2023 at the age of 71 yrs in Lethbridge Alberta after a long battle with cancer.

Norma is survived by her husband, Ted Hodder. Her son, Michael (Janet) Hodder , grandchildren: Morgan, Jackson, Hansen, Ainsley and Marlowe. Daughter Allison (Kevin) Strate, and grandchildren: Brock, Ava and Cole.

Growing up the oldest of 12 siblings, Norma was a strong leader, caregiver, role model and the glue that kept the sibling relationships close.

Norma was born in Bonavista Newfoundland and grew up in Bishop's Falls where she met the love of her life, Ted Hodder. After a period of time in Newfoundland, they found their way to Williams lake BC and then settled in Sparwood BC to raise their children. As retirement neared, Norma and Ted headed to Stirling AB before ending up in Lethbridge AB.

Along the way, Norma continued learning and impacting every community she lived in.... from earning her Clerical Admin certificate at Caribou College to Unit Clerk diploma at Lethbridge Community College. 

Norma was always serving in her communities and church. She showed her love and compassion by always helping others. Norma spent 18 months serving in the Singapore Mission stationed in Miri Sarawak Malaysia. Afterwards, she also spent 2 years serving as a Service missionary in the LDS Employment & Welfare Center in Lethbridge.

She was kind, compassionate and generous to all around her. Norma loved to be entrepreneurial with her skill sets that included creativity, decorating and floral arranging. Norma always had a keen eye for detail and could always find beauty in most things.

Norma would say that her most treasured role in life was that of mother and grandmother. She loved her children.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2023  at 1:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints FORESTRY AVE CHAPEL,  4105 Forestry Ave S, Lethbridge, Alberta.
