With great sorrow and also great gratitude for his incredible life, we announce the passing of Michael David Todd, beloved husband of Conda Rae Todd. He passed on Sunday April 26, 2026 at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Unit after battling in every way to beat cancer. To continue his legacy Mike leaves their 3 daughters Lisa, Sharon (Timothy Dyches) and Michelle (Neil Forsyth) and his grandchildren Lindsey, Cory, Riley, Connor, Nicole, Landon, Colton, Porter, Rigby, Georgia, Ivy and 2 great grandchildren Gracie and Colter. He is survived by his sister Diane Eklund and his brother Rick Todd.

Mike was born in Cape Town, South Africa to Cecil and Jean Todd. Mike spent his youth adventuring in the mountains of Hout Bay near his home. He was an inquisitive and fun-loving boy who built his own speed boat and learned to ski behind it and nearly got his graduating class expelled due to pranks pulled by him and his friends.

After joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in his youth, he served a mission in England where he met his eternal companion, an American – Sister Horne. They lived an exciting life living in South Africa then the United States and eventually Canada. Together they travelled all over the world, seeing all 7 Wonders and going on 28 cruises.

He had many hobbies and interests in life, everything from drumming in a rock band, riding horses, raising cattle, waterskiing, watching Formula 1, growing the most impressive garden and above everything else, loving and supporting his family.

Mike was passionate about his career working as a family and marriage therapist for LDS Family Services. He dedicated 36 years to helping God’s children in any way he could. He had a special compassion for birth mothers. After retirement he served for 6 years in the Canada Vancouver Mission and worked tirelessly helping the missionaries. He continued counseling and helping people wherever and however he could, even including from his hospital bed. He never quit impacting people for good.

A special thank you to the staff on 5A at the Chinook Regional Hospital and the staff at St. Mikes Palliative Care Unit.

Mike had plans to live to 100 but he filled his years so full he only needed 77. Please come and celebrate his remarkable life with us.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, May 4, 2026 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Northside Chapel (2213 6a Ave N, Lethbridge).
