Mom was born in Kitchener Waterloo, Ontario on November 16, 1958. She grew up on a small farm near Drayton with her parents and sisters and brothers. As a youth she made the decision to follow Jesus, and so began the journey that lasted her entire life.
At the age of 19 (almost 20, she would add), she married Lester Bauman. They were blessed with a family of six- 1 son and 5 daughters. They lived the first 21 of their 42 years together in Ontario, before feeling called to move west to Alberta.
Mom was a very motivated person. She had a strong work ethic, and usually had a project on the go. Flowers and gardens flourished under her green thumb, and many a hot mat and head covering were sewed together in short order with her capable hands. Houses were spruced up with the flick of her paint brush. Instead of a book for relaxation, she would turn to her sewing machine.
Family was a priority in Mom's life. She loved nothing better than to have her whole family home for a weekend. Her favorite activity that she always asked for on these weekends was for everyone to gather around and sing. She loved being a grandma, and wore the name well.
In June of 2021 she became a widow after her husband passed away from cancer. Although it was a difficult journey for her to walk through, she was a rock for her family as she faced these new adjustments with an acceptance and deep faith in God. Her favorite verse became "Be still, and know that I am God."
The testimony of her life was well summed up in some of her final words- "God is there till the end." She clung to that God in her life, and He blessed her with His presence to the end.
The family wishes to express their appreciation for the love, support, and prayers they have felt during this time. Also, a special thanks to all the faithful homecare workers and Doctor Baker for their cheerful and competent help.
