Linda Margaret Gedlaman (née Litchfield) peacefully completed her mortal journey on Sunday, September 28, 2025, after valiantly enduring many years of health challenges. She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Gordon Ray Gedlaman, and will be lovingly remembered by her six children: Ryan (Twyla) Gedlaman, Julie (James) Boehmer, Megan Norton Gedlaman, Adam (April) Gedlaman, Anna (Robert) Goth, and Emily (Callum) Wallace and her 20 grandchildren. She also leaves her loving siblings Phyllis (Marlin - deceased) Snider, David (Cheri) Litchfield, Reid (Tiffany) Litchfield, Bradley (Paula) Litchfield and Kandis (Craig) Parascak, as well as her brother-in-law Lloyd (Susan - deceased) Gedlaman and many nieces and nephews who loved and admired her.

She was predeceased by her parents Wm. Elden & Marie Litchfield, her in-laws, Earl & Lila Gedlaman, as well as her sister-in-law Karen (Gedlaman) Ackroyd.

Born in Medicine Hat, Alberta, on December 29, 1951 to Marie and Phillip Nelson, Linda spent her early years in Bow Island, Alberta, often dressed in clothes lovingly made by her mother. Her maternal grandparents' home on main street in Grassy Lake, Alberta, with its backyard chicken coop and pig pen, became a second home.

When life grew difficult, her mother bravely moved with her three young children to Taber, Alberta to start a new life. Despite the challenges, the family grew stronger.

A new chapter began when her mother married William Elden Litchfield, who brought stability and love, adopting Linda and her siblings as his own. The family expanded with three more children, creating a loving and happy home.

After graduating from W. R. Meyers High School, she earned her Bachelor of Science and Education degree from Brigham Young University. During this time, she courted and became engaged to her lifelong friend, Gordon Gedlaman of Taber, Alberta. They were sealed in the Cardston Alberta Temple on July 28, 1973. Linda often described this as the very best decision of her life.

Together, Gordon and Linda built a beautiful life centered on faith and family. Over the years they welcomed six children, and Linda dedicated her life to loving and serving them. She often said her children were her greatest accomplishment. As grandchildren joined the family, she became their biggest supporter, always encouraging and celebrating them in every endeavor.

Linda's most treasured roles were those of wife, mother, and homemaker. A natural nurturer, she had a gift for gathering loved ones and making home a place where love was felt. Summers were spent camping, and winters brought family skating and hockey games on the backyard rink - complete with her hot chocolate, homemade cinnamon buns, and a family room turned "locker room" which she kept as organized as could be!

She was known for her delicious Sunday roast beef dinners, carefully set with coordinating tablecloths, napkins, and centerpieces. Linda loved to cook and bake for her family, friends, and neighbors. Gordon was often sent out with a loaf of freshly baked bread or buns to deliver to someone she felt needed them that day. Every holiday was an event to be remembered, full of traditions she created to strengthen family bonds.

Linda exemplified faith, hope and charity. A devoted disciple of Jesus Christ, she served faithfully in many capacities in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - among children, youth, women, and in music. She also loved supporting Gordon in his callings as Bishop, Stake President, and as part of the Canada Calgary Mission Presidency. In recent years, she especially cherished her temple service and had a strong testimony of the covenants made there. She found peace in the knowledge that families can be together forever. She believed in miracles, both great and small, and gratefully recognized them throughout her life.

Linda adored her dear husband, Gordon. He was the joy and love of her life, and his kindness, devotion, and steady support blessed her through every trial experienced together. They continually showed selfless love to one another, and were a true partnership. Whether building homes, crafting fishing nets, or raising children, they worked together with shared commitment.

Linda's legacy is one of unwavering faith and deep family love. She touched countless lives with her warmth, generosity and discipleship. She was loved by many and will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
