Beloved wife, mother and grandmother Linda Lucile Bevan Broadhead, age 79, passed away peacefully in the Raymond Health Centre on September 18, 2025, in Raymond, Alberta, Canada, from complications related to cancer.
Born on Mother’s Day, May 12, 1946, in Tooele, Utah, Linda was the fourth of eight children born to Leo Ernest Bevan and Lucile Elizabeth Kirk. She grew up in a little white house at 199 North Pinehurst in Tooele, with older siblings Carolyn, Paul and Kenneth and younger siblings Larry, Colleen, Joyce and Brent. Mom always said she was blessed to be born to such a loving family. Linda enjoyed a happy childhood, playing with neighborhood friends, spending time with siblings and extended family, Sunday drives with her parents, helping with household chores, attending school and working at the family store.
At age 12, Linda started working at her family’s business, Bevan's Tooele Hardware, with her father and brothers. Linda worked at the store after school and on weekends, and only occasionally tried to skip out of work to play with her friends. Linda's favorite time of year at the store was Christmas, when the basement would be filled with toys. She learned to wrap Christmas presents like a pro!
In Junior and Senior High School, Linda's favorite subjects were Band and Drama. She played the flute in the Junior and Senior Bands and Marching Band, and performed in several school plays. She graduated from Tooele High School in 1964. Following high school, she attended Brigham Young University, earning an Associate’s Degree in Secretarial Science in 1966. During her time at BYU, she worked as a secretary in the Department of Religious Studies.
In fall of 1965, a handsome cowboy from Canada spied a beautiful girl walking toward the library at Brigham Young University. He worked up his courage to approach her, and the rest is history. Randy and Linda courted through the spring of 1966, and married in the Salt Lake City Temple on September 1st, 1966.
After their wedding they settled in Southern Alberta, moving frequently between Beazer, Lethbridge, Vauxhall and Cardston while Randy finished his schooling and established his career. Linda quickly found work wherever they lived, working at The Cardston News and CJOC Radio in Lethbridge.
In 1968, Linda's first child Jeffrey was born, and Mom's focus shifted to raising her children, managing the household and supporting Dad in all his career, church and life endeavors. Their daughter Karen joined the family in 1970 and son Jason in 1971.
Once her youngest son Jason began kindergarten, Linda returned to work as Executive Secretary at Cardston Elementary School—a position she greatly enjoyed and took pride in. She loved interacting with students and staff and took special delight when her own children would stop by the office for impromptu visits. Later, she served as Executive Secretary at Cardston Municipal Hospital.
Linda’s faith was central to her life. A devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in many callings including Primary, Young Women’s, Compassionate Service, and at the Raymond Family History Library. She formed lasting friendships in Leavitt, Cardston, Stirling, Welling, and Raymond. She took great comfort in the teachings of the Church and in her relationship with her Savior Jesus Christ.
One of the highlights of Linda’s life was serving alongside Randy as a missionary for the LDS Church in the Illinois Nauvoo Mission from 2014 to 2016. As historic site interpreters, they created cherished memories and forged lifelong friendships during this joyful chapter.
Linda's greatest fulfillment came from being a mother and grandmother. She was exceptional at both - loving, caring, playful, kind, conscientious and devoted. She loved us all through life's ups and downs, welcomed our spouses and children with open arms, and cherished any time we spent together. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary, and hardly let a day go by without telling us we were loved. She was blessed with 20 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, and “Grandma Bee” adored them all. She had a way with babies and toddlers, and made many special memories with her grandchildren with her songs, stories, games that she'd always let the kids win, snuggles and imaginative adventures. She loved decorating and hosting family for holidays and special occasions, and was happiest when surrounded by her family. Her care and kindness to all of us will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her loving husband Randy Lynn Broadhead and three children: Jeffrey (Melanie) Broadhead and their children Spencer (Melissa) Broadhead, Z (Danial) Peck, Jurgen Guerra Broadhead, David Broadhead, Ethan Broadhead, Niurka Guerra Broadhead, Sara (Sydnee) Broadhead, Jonathan Broadhead, Lexi Broadhead, Brandon Broadhead and Fabiana Revilla Broadhead; Karen (James) Broadhead-Haney and their children Leo Ayden (Amy Mack) Broadhead, Benjamin Haney, Madeline Haney, Emma Haney and Wyatt Haney; Jason (Kathy) Broadhead and their children Scott (Sara) Laws, Katelyn (Mathew) Heidinger, Grace Broadhead and Joshua Broadhead.
Linda is also lovingly remembered by her great-grandchildren Nora and Maisie Heidinger; Laura and Eli Broadhead; and Harrison Laws.
Linda was predeceased by her parents Leo and Lucile Bevan; siblings Carolyn (Norman) Wright, Paul Bevan, Kenneth Bevan, Larry (Deanne) Bevan and Joyce Elkington; her in-laws Glen and Clarice Broadhead, Marcene (Guido) Pontarollo, Audrey (George) Nelson, Ron Broadhead, as well as beloved grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and dear family friends.
She is survived by siblings Colleen (Mark) Bezzant and Brent (Lynn) Bevan, sister-in-law Jeanne Bevan, brother-in-law Bob (Wendy) Elkington, Randy's siblings Marilyn (Gerald) Beazer, Rita (Mike) Shaw, and Jim (Kelly) Broadhead, sisters-in-law Joann Broadhead and Barbara (Ron) Bore, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her friend Deborah, neighbors Ana and Manny Garcia, and many other people in the community that were dear to her.
