Leonora Jennifer (Northcroft) Heazell

Leonora Jennifer “Jenny” Heazell, 82, of Lethbridge Alberta, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2023, after a prolonged battle with cancer.

Jenny was born January 10, 1941, in Bath, UK. She emigrated to Canada with 3 of her dear friends. After living and working in Ottawa she travelled by train to Victoria and in the dome car of The Canadian, she met her future husband. Jenny and Anthony started their life together in Banff, Alberta where they were married in the autumn of 1968. They moved to Calgary in 1971 and lived there until 1985 when they returned to the UK. Together they ran a quintessential country pub in Dorset, The Admiral Hood for several years. In 2001 they followed their boys and returned to Canada and after a brief time in Calgary they moved to Lethbridge where they enjoyed their retirement and made some great friendships.

Jenny Heazell was a kind, loving and effervescent person, devoted to her husband and family who will be missed and remembered by the many lives she touched. A person of good humour, mischievousness, and a passionate spirit, she bravely and defiantly battled cancer for nearly two decades, refusing to give in, she fought right until the end when she passed peacefully. An avid birder, sports fanatic, and lover of life she charmed those around her.

Jenny leaves behind a loving husband, Anthony Scarth Heazell, and two sons Christopher Patrick Heazell and Nicholas Alastair Robert Heazell, Daughter-in-Laws Kirstin Jane Evenden and Robyn Keddy Tully, Grandchildren Benjamin Scarth Heazell and Penelope Louise Heazell, as well as much-loved family in the UK and numerous friends across the globe.

Jenny was supported by many health professionals on her journey, and the family would like to thank them for their great care.

There will be no memorial service or funeral with her immediate family, as per her wishes.  A celebration of her life will occur in the future.

The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (UK).
