With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Lauchie Arnold Champney of Lethbridge, on December 10, 2024. He leaves to mourn his loving wife and best friend, Esther; his two sons Mitch and Ryan (Ashley), and 7 grandchildren--Elizabeth, Grace (Kaleb), Alden, Ellis, Avery, Jordan, and Sawyer.
Lauchie is survived by his sister Arlene Litchfield, and predeceased by his sisters Rita and Ona Gayle.
Lauchie was born in Fort Macleod and grew up on the family farm in Orton. Losing his dad at 17 was a difficult time in his life. Lauchie and Esther rode the same school bus as children, soon becoming best friends and sweethearts, and marrying in their 20's. He had a passion for vehicles, house renovations, country music, making his grandchildren laugh with (or at) him, and finding the best prime rib or chinese food. Above all else, family was the most important thing in his life.
Lauchie never complained about his hardships, and was reserved while also being outgoing. He was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need, was generous with his time, and was a loyal friend.
A viewing will be held Monday December 16 at 10:00am, with Funeral services and lunch to follow at 10:30am, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (2410 28 St S, Lethbridge). Graveside service to follow at Orton Cemetery.
