KLAIR WILLIAM GEIGER
With great sadness the family of Klair William Geiger announce his sudden passing on July 30, 2025 at Calgary Foothills Hospital Cardiac ICU, surrounded by his loving family.
Klair was born in Lethbridge at the Galt Hospital to Averil and Nick Geiger on May 15, 1953.
Left to mourn his passing is his loving wife Maureen, his son Keenan(Ashleigh) Boyd -Geiger, his daughter Quincy (Jordan) Palmer, his granddaughters Rogue and Veyda Palmer and his grand Fur Babies, Hiro, Tamber and Charlie.
Also left are his sisters, Kay (Jerry – deceased) Gorrill and Beth (Ben) Vanderheide, Brother-in-law Stan (Gale – deceased) Woods and Sister-in-law Maxine (Stanton – deceased) Geiger.
Klair grew up in the Crowsnest Pass and loved to hike and fish, a passion he carried on with his son Keenan. He was very supportive of Quincy in her love of dance and followed his granddaughter’s dancing as well. Klair enjoyed skating with his two grand girls and planting and harvesting their mini gardens.
After high school Klair attended Lethbridge Community College and then SAIT, which led to his career with Toledo Scale.
To say that Klair loved sports was an understatement. He was always involved in individual or team sports, coaching or playing or cheering on his favorite teams, like the Calgary Flames or the Toronto Blue Jays. In later life he still followed sports but more as a spectator, taking part in an NHL hockey draft with friends. He loved golfing in his retirement. You could often see him with his golf buddies at the Picture Butte Golf Club having a beer at the 19th hole.
Klair had an artistic side besides his athletic side. He took oil painting lessons in his teens and he also had stamp and coin collections which he passed on to younger family members. He enjoyed travelling and made trips with siblings and their spouses to Las Vegas, England and Scotland and did an Alaskan Cruise. He even talked Maureen, who is not fond of air travel in going on a trip to Hawaii for their honeymoon.
Klair was a great relative and a friend to many. We will all miss him dearly.
If so desired in memory of Klair donations can be made to “Bringing Hearts Home Campaign” c/o The Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation, Lethbridge.
