Obituary
Karen Jean Zielke, loving mother of two and adoring wife to husband Jerry Zielke, passed away in the early hours of August 31, 2023, at the age of 79, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Karen was born in 1944 in Wetaskiwin, Alberta and grew up with her siblings Carol and Danny. Karen was influenced by her family and her Christian faith to be a loving and caring woman who always put Christ at the center of her life. She met her husband Jerry at the Calvary Baptist Church and they were married on August 13, 1966. As a mother she was generous, loving and kind. Karen devoted a large portion of her life to working as a nurse, kindergarten teacher, church administrator and contributed immeasurably to the operation of the family farm.
Karen is survived by her husband Jerry Zielke, her children Dale and Sayeh Zielke, Tracy and Sheldon Backstrom and her grandchildren Seth and Kristina.
