Julie Rose Turcotte Obituary

It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of JULIE ROSE TURCOTTE following a brief battle with Endometrial Cancer on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at the age of 55. We were blessed to have her at home with us in her final days, and she passed peacefully surrounded by those that loved her the most: Jeffrey (husband and soulmate), Damon (son) and partner Tania, Brennen (son) and partner Kira, Madison (daughter), Zack (grandson/son of her heart), Judy Thompson-Schwandt (mother) and Jeanette Scully (sister), as well as her many fur babies.

Julie was also loved and will be missed by her father in law, Albert Turcotte, sister in law Twila Atkinson (nee Turcotte) and brother in law Kevin Atkinson, nephew Matthew McLean-Atkinson and brother in law Lee Turcotte. Julie was predeceased by her brother David LeBlanc and mother in law Freda Turcotte (nee Flamau)

Born in Halifax July 14, 1966, Julie met her soulmate Jeffrey in St. Paul, AB in 1982 and married February 3, 1990 in Edmonton AB, where they lived for nearly 25 years before moving on to Fishing Lake and finally Lethbridge. Julie was a self described extroverted introvert, loved talking to people and making their day just a little better but preferred being at home with her loved ones. There you would find Julie sitting or cuddling with her Jeffy, children, grandson and Fattycakes (cat), enjoying their company talking, laughing, watching Family Feud, Let's Make a Deal and many fantasy or police tv dramas, or playing Animal Crossing and Mario Party. Her fun loving personality and laughter will be sorely missed.

We are filled with gratitude for the loving support of the Bishop and members of the Garry Station Ward throughout Julie's illness. The many meals provided allowed us to focus on Julie and her needs and your kind words helped lift us up and maintain the strength to endure.

A heartfelt thank you to all that were involved in her medical care here in Lethbridge: the  doctors and nurses in Unit 4B for allowing us the time to be with her in hospital, the palliative doctors  and community care workers for facilitating her return home, the numerous EMS staff for transport and emergency response, the many home care aides for personal care and staff at Salmon and Sons Funeral Home. Amid the chaos of Covid restrictions you gave us the gift of peace and closure.

A Celebration of Julie's Life will take place at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint, 560 Highlands Blvd W, Lethbridge AB at 1:00 pm on Saturday January 29, 2022. Due to Covid restrictions, it is invitation only.
