Judith (Tingey) Holt

As a family, we announce the passing of our beloved JUDITH TINGEY HOLT, at the Raymond General Hospital, after a courageous battle with Liver Cancer. We thank Dr. Eric Baker, the Home Care and the Hospital Staff for their kindness and care of Judy.

Judy was born in Greenup, Illinois, the 5th child of Willis Alma and Lola Madsen Tingey. Her father was a Civil Engineer, geographically surveying in the mid-western United States.

She was raised in Logan, Utah where she attended the Logan City schools, graduating from Logan High. Judy loved to sing, and sang many solos, in duets and in many choirs. She loved to perform and was involved in many plays and productions. She was a first runner-up in one of the Miss Cache Valley Pageants.

Judy was attending Utah State University, where she met a foreign student by the name of Max Holt. After courting for 1 ½ years, they were married in the Logan Temple.

After both graduated from Utah State, Max “imported” her to his hometown of Raymond, Alberta. Judy enjoyed her teaching career (mostly 4th Grade) at the Raymond Elementary and North Side Schools.

Judy was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a Ward and Stake Primary President, in the Young Women’s, and as a Family History Consultant. She and Max served a Mission to Cove Fort, Utah and served for 20 years as a Ordinance Workers at the Cardston Temple.

Judy is survived by her loving husband, Max Thomson Holt, daughter Jody (Wayne deceased) Holt Vanee, Rex (Veronica) Holt, Ted (Kelliane) Holt, and 7 grandchildren. She is also survived by 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

She was predeceased by her parents, infant son Tim Murray Holt, and one brother.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, TAYLOR STREET CHAPEL (West on HWY 52, Raymond) on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM.

Friends may meet the family on Thursday August 19, 2021, at the church from 7:00 to 8:00 PM, or prior to the Service on Friday from 10:00 to 10:45 AM. Interment will take place at the Temple Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Jack Ady Cancer Centre (960 19 St S, Lethbridge, AB T1J 1W5)
