Joan Lauttamus passed peacefully on August 10, 2024, at the Chinook Regional Hospital. She was born to Gonpei and Namiye Fukunaga in 1932 in Surrey, B.C. She was one of seven siblings (Coleen, Elma, Jim, Robert, Arthur and Kay).
After enduring the hardships of WWII, she attended SAIT and had a long career in the food service industry, working at the Mount Royal and Timberline hotels in Banff and the Westin in Calgary. She met and married Harold Lauttamus and they eventually retired to the Okanagan, but later returned to Lethbridge.
Auntie Joan was as kind and beautiful a person as anyone could ever hope to meet and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends. The family thanks all of the folks at the Heritage Lodge and Unit 5A of the CRH for their care and concern.
At Joan's request, there will be no funeral and in lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.
