Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of (James) Allen Byrne on April 10, 2023 at the age of 79.   Allen is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lorraine Byrne, his children, grandchildren, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Allen served his communities with pride throughout his life, first as a member of the RCMP in Alberta's K Division and then as a Lake Louise Ski Patroller and CSIA Ski Instructor.  Although he lived in Alberta for many years, Allen maintained a strong connection to his home in Kimberley, BC.  He was a committed husband, father, grandfather, doggy grandad, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, hockey coach, train aficionado, Oilers fan and so much more to everyone he helped along the way.

Allen's wish was to not have a funeral.  A private celebration of life will be held at a date to be determined.   In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Diabetes Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
