IAN MACQUARRIE

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ian MacQuarrie announces his sudden passing from heart failure, at the age of 56, on Monday, January 25, 2021, as we Scots know it as Robbie Burn's Day.

If you knew Ian at all, you knew he was hard as a stone or soft as a whisper.

He was funny as any practical joke and as serious as the great beyond.

He was the kindest soul that ever walked the earth but always struggled to appreciate his own self worth.

He loved and hated with equal intensity - never half way.

I'll take to my grave the wish that he had taken better care of himself, my dear brother.

But he took care of it all....one way or a tuther.....

Ian loved and was a steadfast Edmonton Eskimo fan to the end. With Covid 19 relegating him to watching reruns of past games to feed his passion, and he still got excited by them.

Ian will be lovingly remembered by his children, James MacQuarrie and Jessica MacQuarrie of Lethbridge; his brother Duncan MacQuarrie of Fort Saskatchewan; sister Jane (Karl) Seitz of Edmonton; brother Angus (Alison) MacQuarrie of Sherwood Park; brother Gord (Darlene) MacQuarrie of Lethbridge and many nephews and nieces.

Ian will be cremated and his remains will be placed to rest beside his Dad & Mother at a later date. As well, a private celebration for family and friends will be held around this time.
