Mac was born Oct 15, 1922 in Hamilton, New South Wales, Australia. As a youth, he loved long distance bike riding, singing in the choir and attending church.

Mac was a veteran of the Australian Army WW2, serving in Papua New Guinea, Rabaul and Boganville. Mac married Anne Smith in 1947. John was born 1949 and they immigrated to Canada in 1950. Kathy was born 6 months later and Rhonda, Paul and Donna were added to the family in coming years.  He careered with AGT, living in Alberta and in BC during retirement.  Mac whistled and sang his way through life, right up until the end and will forever be known for “Danny Boy”.

He was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving 3 missions with Anne and serving in any calling, including in the Cardston, Alberta Temple. He had an amazing sense of humour that endeared him to everyone. Mac enjoyed his ham radio as well as using his artistic talents of drawing. What can we say? He was a fun loving, humble, sincere, faithful, chocolate loving gentleman!

Deepest thanks go to the staff of both the Diamond Willow and Good Sam’s in Magrath for making Mac’s last years pleasant and comfortable.
