EUGENE MELLISH

Eugene passed away peacefully at home with his wife Elinor Joan Mellish, son Timothy daughter in law Annette as well as grandchildren by his side.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years Elinor Joan Mellish

Todd Carson Mellish of Toronto Canada
Mark Andrew Mellish of Saskatoon Saskatchewan wife Sherry
Timothy Mellish Lethbridge AB wife Annette

4 grandchildren:
Tamara Meza (Jason Meza)
Jamie Buswell (Ashley Buswell)
Justin Mellish (Ainie Mellish)
Trysten-Marie Firth (Andrew Firth)

As well as 2 great granddaughters:
Kataleia Sophia Meza
Arabella Leah Meza

Eugene was born and raised south of Zelma on the family homestead. He and Elinor raised the 4 boys on the family farm. During this time they had many fun and lasting memories that they will cherish to this day.

Eugene's main focus of life and raising the family was his relationship with Jehovah. He regularly participated in the field ministry with many funny and rewarding stories to tell to friends and family. He served as an elder in the congregation for more than 59 years spending a great deal of time working hard in this capacity. His service to Jehovah was a very large part of his life right up to the end telling the family he wasn't afraid to die rather believed so surely in his hope of resurrection. For many years Eugene and Elinor listened on phone hook ups to the weekly meetings although this was different for him he was still a regular attender right up to the end.

We often joked that his last years were being spent in Alberta rather then Saskatchewan however on many occasions we had the pleasure of him admitting that Alberta isnt the worst place to live its actually even pretty here, spoken like a true Saskatchewan person.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has reached out to the family during this time. Lethbridge Family Services for the care they provided, our homecare team of nurses, Samantha and the rest of the team we always knew you had our backs no matter what time of the day or night.
