Donald Herbert Standing and Janet Dianne Standing (née Manser) were rarely apart during their 67 years of marriage. And like in life, so they are in death. Don passed away in his sleep the evening of March 30th, 2025, and Jan followed within hours, the morning of March 31st.

They are predeceased by their youngest child, and only son, Greg Standing, and survived by their 4 daughters Kathryn (David) Judd, Dianne Standing, Kerri (Chris) Beitel, and Barb Standing. Their legacy lives on with 5(7) grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Don was born in Lethbridge on October 5, 1934 and Jan on April 26, 1939, also in Lethbridge. Don spent 35 years with AGT (Alberta Government Telephones) before they became Telus.  Jan was a stay-at-home mom until the kids were older and she starting decorating cakes with her sister-in-law, June.

Don & Jan enjoyed time with their 5 children with camping trips every summer to Waterton or Wasa Lake, B.C.  After Don retired, they travelled extensively, with almost annual trips to Oahu being their favourite destination.  They have now embarked on their most exciting adventure together.

Funeral services will be held in Medicine Hat, Alberta on Friday, April 18 at 3:00pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 1864 Division Avenue N. Please join the family in the cultural hall immediately following the service for a meal and reminiscing.
