March 24, 1969 - April 7, 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of Deborah (Debbie) Jean Sandberg announces her passing on April 7, 2021. Debbie passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 52 years old.

Debbie will be forever missed, and lovingly remembered by her mother Loretta Sandberg, her father Doug Sandberg, her sister Kim Kirk, her niece Mackenzie (Dustyn) Tennessen, and her nephew Lucas Ober. In addition to her family, Debbie will also be greatly missed by her best friends of 40 years: Bonnie James, Christy Martens and Jane Chew.

Debbie was born in Calgary and raised in Lethbridge, where she graduated from Winston Churchill in 1987. Following graduation, she attended both the University of Lethbridge and the University of Victoria. Once returning home, Debbie worked as the district manager for KFC in Southern Alberta.

Volleyball, Disney, and The Sound of Music were a few of Debbie's favorite things. She was so proud of her niece and nephew, Mackenzie and Lucas. Auntie never missed a single occasion where she could be there to show her love and support for them. She was much more than an aunt to them, she was like a second mom.

Debbie's family would like to send out a special thanks to Celeste and the staff in the Palliative Care Unit at St. Michael's Health Centre for showing us such compassion while taking amazing care of Debbie. Celeste, you're one in a million.

Due to COVID restrictions, a private funeral service will be held on April 16, 2021 at the Stirling Cemetery in Stirling, Alberta
