DEBORAH EDMONDS Obituary

It is with the deepest sorrow that the family of Deborah Jean Edmonds announces her passing on December 30, 2020, at the Chinook Regional Hospital, in Lethbridge, Alberta. Deb left this world surrounded by her loving husband and children, at the age of 66 years.

Deb was born in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan on January 19, 1954. She was the third of five children born to Lorna Jean Rolston. Deb spent her childhood days on the family farm just outside of Kerrobert. She graduated from the Kerrobert High School in 1972 and married the love of her life, Ian Miles Edmonds, in August of that same year. Ian and Deb spent the remainder of her days together, welcoming their first of four children, Tamaris Dawn Edmonds, in February of 1978 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Robert Ian Edmonds was welcomed to the family in December of 1979. After a move to Brooks, Alberta, Deb and Ian welcomed their third child, Kimberley Jean Edmonds. Devery Mitchell Edmonds completed their beautiful family in October of 1991. The family later relocated to Strathmore, Alberta in 1997. Deb made her final move with her family to Lethbridge in 1999.

Deb was passionate about children. She spent her days in Brooks running a dayhome where many children were fortunate enough to receive her care. After the family moved to Lethbridge she worked in the out of school program, "It's a BLAST". During her time at BLAST she made many lasting friendships that she valued deeply.

Deb’s whole world was her family. She was the biggest supporter of her children's sports and activities and could always be found in an arena watching her boys play their favorite sport, hockey, or supporting her girls in figure skating. It was through the many days spent in the rink that she created numerous friendships with her fellow "hockey moms".

Upon the arrival of her grandchildren, Bronwyn Jean, Isabelle Sandra, and Jack Robert, she then took on the role of the most supportive grandma in the crowd. Her and Ian traveled all over the province to catch cheer competitions, dance competitions and recitals, hockey games, and music recitals. Deb was so proud of her grandchildren and took any opportunity that she could to share her praise with anyone who would listen. She was very much looking forward to the arrival of a fourth grandchild, who is set to arrive in June of 2021 to Devery and his wife, Kristin.

Over the years Deb was faced with many challenges. She always approached each new challenge with determination and perseverance. She was a fighter till the end.

Deb is survived by her loving husband, Ian. In their fifty years together he was by her side for every adventure, every challenge and every happy memory. This last August they celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary together. She is also survived by her children, Tam and her spouse, Tim who reside in Australia, Rob and his spouse Courtney, along with their children Izzie and Jack, Kim and her daughter, Bronwyn, and Devery and his spouse, Kristin. Also mourning her passing are her brothers Bob (Robin) Rolston, Jim (Elaine) Rolston, and Rick Rolston, as well as her mother Lorna Rolston, Ian's extended family and many nieces and nephews. Deb was predeceased by her sister, Dawn.

Deb was fiercely loved by all who knew her and will be terribly missed by her family and friends. She was the most loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.

A Private Service will be held.
