Carl Wayne Richardson passed away peacefully on February 11th 2022 at the age of 82- just one month shy of his 83rd birthday. Carl was the ninth child of David Samuel Richardson and Ethel May White, born on March 6th 1939 in Raymond Ab. He lived in Raymond until he met his late wife Marie Adamson, the two were married on April 29th 1961 and later that year they welcomed the first of their four sons. Carl and Marie lived in many places all over southern Alberta all while making friends that would turn into family. Carl was always welcoming in his home, the policy was "leave your shoes on and if you go away hungry it's your own fault." He would make sure you got a phone call on your birthday because he had them all written down, and was always making sure everyone had what they needed. Carl became an uncle, a grandpa, and a father figure to almost everyone he met.
Carl and Marie were part of the Southern Alberta CB club. They took a lot of pride in being members and loved to talk about their time having campouts and tons of other activities with the club. They were known as Papa and Mama Pheasant and their sons were "The chicks". They collected mugs from every get together and filled their cupboards with them. Carl loved to camp, play crib, and he would spend his mornings with a coffee in hand, playing solitaire and listening to traidio. At Christmas time the house was decorated with every light imaginable and of course filled with friends and family. When anyone would call Carl and ask how he was doing his response was always "Fat n Sassy."
Carl is predeceased by his loving wife Marie, his brothers Ernest, Clarence (Bus), Calvin, Ralph, Melvin, Allen (Garry), and Richard P, his sister May Clifton, and his great granddaughter Katelynne. He leaves to mourn his four sons Reno, LaVal (Anita), Mark (Sherry), and Randy, his three grandchildren Trisha (Andre), Shalayne (Cam), and Murry, and three great grandchildren, Sadie, Macy and Wyatt. Carl also leaves behind numerous friends and family members who will remember him as being funny, sometimes stubborn, and always "Fat n Sassy."
A graveside dedication and service will be held at the Stirling cemetery on Saturday February 19th at 1pm. The family hopes you bring a story of Carl to share. A Celebration of Life (BBQ) will be announced and held at a later date.
