CHARLES MARCHAND Obituary

MARCHAND

It is with sadness we announce the passing of CHARLES LOUIS MARCHAND who is survived by his three loving children: Todd (Bev) Marchand of Calgary, Jacquline Olshaski and Nicole (Brian) VandenBerg of Lethbridge as well as their mother, Yvonne Gilbert of Lethbridge and his friend Gail Bridgewater. In addition to his siblings Valerie Mackenzie of Winnipeg, Ronald Marchand of Salmon Arm, and Jack Marchand of Calgary, his six grand children, Ryan Marchand, Chase, Jaime, Dale, Joseph and Violet VandenBerg, as well as a nephew Denis Marchand and a niece Susan Neurauter.

Charles was born in Rockglen, Saskatchewan. The family moved to Sedley when Charles was a boy. He left as a young man to attend Notre Dame college for his teaching certificate. Yvonne and Charles were married in July of 1963 and moved to Lethbridge in 1968. He taught at C.C.H. and St. Francis for the following 20 years fondly remembered by many students and staff alike. Yvonne and Charles raised their family on a 10 acre parcel in homes they built.

Charles will be remembered for the joy he brought with his sense of humour and witty remarks as well as the excitement he brought to the classroom. He loved his family very much and was very proud of his children and grand children.
