Barbara Louise (Anderson) Snow

Barbara Louise (Anderson) Snow was born April 10, 1935 to Angus and Isabell Anderson. Barbara grew up on a large ranch near New Dayton Alberta.  Her experiences growing up were a constant source of joy as she retold stories over the years as she had fond memories of her parents and siblings.

Growing up she excelled in track and field, and actually held the provincial triple jump record that stood for many many years.

She was a star basketball player and anyone who ever tried to beat her in checkers, knows their efforts were futile as she was absolutely unbeatable.

Barbara married Gordon Snow in the Cardston Alberta Temple July 14, 1954.  They were married for 69 years.

They had 4 children; Dale, Marla, Maureen and Todd.

They spent their lives 10 miles South of Raymond on a farm / ranch. There were struggles and victories, and a beautiful life was created.

Barbara always had a deep love for animals. It wasn’t a regular kinship, it’s like she understood them somehow.  Horses especially were her gift.  She helped countless people just be a little more in harmony with them.  She could often be heard talking to herself, working out how to describe something to help the horse.

Barbara also loved to watch her grandkids and great grandkids participate in everything and none of us can recall her missing a game or a track meet.

Her quick and clever wit will be cherished by those who laughed with her

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday July 31, 2023 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, RAYMOND STAKE HOUSE (2 N 200 W, Raymond AB).

Friends are welcome to meet with the family from 12:00 to 12:45pm prior to the Service at the church.
