It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Allen Taphorn of Coaldale Alberta, a beloved family man who carried an infectious humor that endeared him to everyone he met. Born on the 15th of December, 1941 in Humboldt Saskatchewan, Allen's impactful journey on this earth came to an end on the 24th of January, 2026.

A pillar of strength and compassion, Allen was a devoted husband to his wife Gail, whom he married in 1975. They built a lifetime of memories together, their bond only growing stronger with each passing year. Their love story serves as an inspiration for their children and grandchildren.

Besides Gail, Allen is survived by his three children; sons Jeff (Helen) and Kendall, and daughter Janelle. Allen's life was further enriched by the presence of his grandchildren; Taysen, Anthony, Curtis, Blaire, and Maddox. Each of them held a special place in Allen's heart, and they will continue to celebrate his memory in their lives.

Allen retired in 2006 from Fording River, leaving behind a successful career that showcased his commitment to hard work and dedication. Despitehis professional achievements, for Allen, the greatest accomplishment was always his family. His vibrant personality and witty humor made family gatherings a source of joy and heartwarming laughter.

A devoted fan of the Calgary Flames, Allen was also passionate about outdoor activities. He loved to spend his time riding his motorcycle, snowmobile or trolling around the lake. Searching for and cutting firewood was another of his favourite pastimes, providing him not only with great joy but also moments of peace and tranquility.

Allen Taphorn was a man who embraced life with a heart full of love and a soul full of laughter. His departure has left a void in our lives, but his legacy will continue to inspire us. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the life he lived. As per Allens request, there will be no formal service at this time.
